πŸ‘­Erie City Moms' Night Out! (FREE childcare provided)

Erie City Moms meets once a month kid-free to get real about their struggles. The other 353 days, these moms "do life" together in the community as friends, mentors, accountability partners, and prayer partners. Moms from all corners of Erie and all walks of life are welcome. It's not necessary to live in the city. Dinner and childcare are always free. Sept. 2

πŸ‘ŠπŸ½Bully Prevention Seminar (ages 4-12) at Lincoln Community Center Library

This seminar will teach your child several ways to handle an uncomfortable situation when approached by a bully or stranger. These basic lessons repeated over time will help your child gain confidence, awareness, and basic self-defense skills to protect themselves against these situations. During this lesson the students will not learn kicks or strikes but will learn a few other movements to keep them safe. Registration required. Sept. 3

πŸ”¨Scarecrow Planter Kids Workshop at Home Depot

Harvest the fun during this hands-on workshop where you and your child can build a scarecrow planter. Your young farmer can learn how a seed grows while you help them construct a festive home for their plant. They will sand, glue, and paint pieces of wood to create this holiday planter. Registration requested. Sept. 7

🚽I Can Do-Do This: Potty Training 101 at Blasco

This is for any family tackling the porcelain giant, also known as the toilet! Join friends for an inspiring storytime to introduce potty training principles through fun read-alouds, singing, and dancing. Whether your family has a troublesome tinkler or a peaceful pooper, there’s something here for everyone. Sept. 7

🍁21st Annual LEAF Festival at Frontier Park

A free, family-friendly educational event celebrating the beauty and diversity of trees in the arboretum. Local organizations provide information and hands-on activities including a live animal display, arboretum tours, auction, crafts, scavenger hunt, and more! The festival is free and open to the public. Sept. 7

🎨 Make Your Own Comic Strip at Second Sundays at the Erie Art Museum

Get carried up up and away making your own comic strips. It’s a great way to bring out the artist and storyteller in your kid. Oh, and if they or you want to dress up as a superhero that’s totally cool. Sept. 8

πŸ“šOff the Shelf: Magical Mayhem at Blasco 

Magical Mayhem Reading is magic! Make a fairy wish chime, play dragon lair tag, and sample some food inspired by the world of Harry Potter. For kids ages 8-12.Registration requested. Sept. 12

πŸ‘“Edinboro Wizardfest 2019 

Celebrate the 9th year of Edinboro Wizardfest (aka Edinboro Potterfest). The week remains focused on family fun and education from the Harry Potter saga in book and film, but we also celebrate the new J.K. Rowling wizard world: Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them. Most events of WizardFest are free, including a "Day at the Castle" for kids, a Defense Against the Dark Arts Class, a Wizard Escape Room, and a wizard cosplay promenade through downtown Edinboro. Some events require registration. Sept. 14-21

πŸŒ…Free Admission Day at Bicentennial Tower 

It's free admission day to the Bicentennial Tower. Bring the whole family to see the view -- and Erie's newest mural -- from the top of the 138-foot high observation deck. Sept. 20

πŸ’šInternational Coastal Cleanup at Presque Isle 

Take part in this annual feel-good project, during which volunteers collect trash and record data regarding their finds. Families and groups are welcome. Sept. 21
