Erie Districts Continue to Make Meals Available During School Closure

Erie, Millcreek and many county school districts have plans in place to feed kids during shutdown

Local school districts are working to keep kids fed during the minimum 10-day school closure. Here are details on where Erie County kids can get meals during this time:

Erie School District

Based on new guidance from the state and federal government, we will provide meals to anyone under 18, including all public, charter, parochial and private school students, effective Wednesday, March 18. Meals are distributed daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all district elementary, middle and high schools. Additional details regarding where to pick up food at distribution sites:

Erie High, 3325 Cherry St.
• Front doors of main lobby on Cherry Street
Collegiate Academy, 2825 State St.
• Enter on 29th Street and exit via French Street

Middle Schools

East, 1001 Atkins St.
• Gym Entrance in the Back of the Building
Strong Vincent, 1330 West 8th St.
• Main Front Doors on West 8th Street
Wilson, 718 East 28th St.
• Main Front Doors on East 28th Street

Elementary Schools

Diehl, 2327 Fairmont Parkway
• Cafeteria Doors – Back of building
Edison, 1921 East Lake Road
• Front doors to gym off of East Lake Rd.
Grover Cleveland, 1540 W. 38th St.
• Main front doors on West 38th Street
Harding, 820 Lincoln Ave.

Existing school pantries already in operation at Erie High, Collegiate Academy, the DiPaolo Student Success Center at Emerson Gridley and East and Wilson middle schools will continue operations as normal. Pantries will be open on Fridays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.


Millcreek Township School District

Meals will be available for pick up at the following locations/only one option MUST be selected on the preorder form/voicemail order: 

  • Belle Valley Elementary at 5300 Henderson Rd.
  • Tracy Elementary at 2624 West 6th St.
  • JS Wilson Middle School at 901 West 54th St.
  • Westlake Middle School at 4330 Westlake Rd.
  • McDowell Intermediate High School at 3320 Caughey Rd.

All meals will be served between 11:00AM and 12:30PM Monday through Friday

Order must be placed between the hours of 2PM and 7PM the day prior using PREORDER form or by voicemail at 814-835-5337. Should your child have a food allergy, please use the voicemail ordering option and provide any details regarding the allergy

  • Preorder is REQUIRED each day
  • The preorder form will be available each day beginning the evening of Sunday, March 15th 
  • Additional meals available for students that drop in, but availability will be limited 
  • Meals will be free for all children ages 1-18 
  • Breakfast for the next morning will be given out with lunch 
  • Adult meals are not available for purchase

Corry Area School District

  • Meal order and pick up process
  • Preorder is REQUIRED each day
  • Dial 814-664-4677 enter #1 for the District Administration Office
  • State student’s first and last name (only 1 name necessary per household)
  • State quantity of meals needed (all children in your household age 1 - 18 are eligible for free meals even if they do not attend CASD)
  • You must call between the hours of 8AM-4PM the day prior to meal service
  • Remember to call each day (Monday-Friday) prior to the day that you need meals provided.
  • Additional meals available for students that drop in, but availability will be
  • limited
  • Pick up will be curb side drive through (you do not need to get out of your
  • vehicle) Please line up in a single lane against the curb.
  • Location is the middle/high school front entrance door
  • Pick up time 11am – 1pm Monday-Friday
  •  Breakfast for the next morning will be given out with lunch
  • Adult meals are not available for purchase

Fairview School District

The Food Service Department of Fairview School District will be providing free lunch to students in our district during our school closure.  Grab ‘n Go meals will be available for pick up at Weis Library United Methodist Church, 6020 Heidler Road, Fairview. (Look for the yellow Fairview School District van.)  This service will begin on Tuesday, March 17th from 11:30am – 1pm.  Children must be present for lunch to be provided.  

Click here to access the order form. Please place orders by 6pm on Monday, March 16, 2020.  Please identify whether a lunch is required for the period Tuesday, March 17, 2020, through Friday, March 20, 2020. Later this week we will post an order form for the week of March 23, 2020.

We encourage families to continue to be proactive in reducing the risk of coronavirus by not congregating at the pick-up site once your meal has been distributed, continuing to washing your hands often and staying home if you are sick.


General McLane School District

  • Lunches are available to students eligible for free and reduced meals.
  • Complete one order form per student.
  • Pick up at GMHS between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. DAILY in front of the main lobby.
  • Enter north entrance to the front of General McLane High School with your driver door closest to the main entrance doors. Please stay in your vehicle, a food service representative will greet you at your car and bring meals to you. Exit out of the south driveway.

Girard School District

Meals will be free for all Girard School District resident children ages 1-18.

Grab ‘n Go meals will be available for pick up at Elk Valley Elementary School (side ramp door) on Tuesday, March 17th, Wednesday, March 18th and Friday, March 20th between 11:00 – 12:30 p.m. More information will be shared as we plan for the week of March 23rd.

PREORDER is REQUIRED each day: Orders must be placed between the hours of 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm the day prior to pick up using a voicemail ordering system. Call 774-7444. For more information visit here.


Harbor Creek School District

The response to the Coronavirus has impacted every family in the District. For families and students with nutritional and food needs, however, the impact is most acute. In an effort to provide for these students in need, we will be offering a meal pick-up service on the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, March 17th – 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, March 24th – 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The drive thru site will be located in back of Harbor Creek High School at the loading dock entrance. Students who attend any school in the District are eligible and encouraged to take part in this program. Participants will be provided meal bags as needed on each of the stated dates above. Each meal bag will contain 10 meals – 5 lunches and 5 breakfasts. Please Note: Meals must be consumed off-site, and no families will be permitted to enter school buildings at this time.

The Ella Cochran Food Pantry and Harbor Creek School District are working in conjunction to relay important information to all families with students in the District to help during this two week closure.  

  • On Wednesday March 18th – 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – the Ella Cochran Food Bank will be distributing food. You DO NOT have to be registered with the Ella Cochran Food Bank to receive service. 
  • On Wednesday, March 25th – 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. – the Ella Cochran Food Bank will be providing additional breakfast and lunch items to Harbor Creek families who CURRENTLY HAVE children in the District.  

The Ella Cochran Food Pantry is located at Our Lady of Mercy Church at 837 Bartlett Road.


Iroquois School District

Iroquois School District is committed to providing access to nutritious meals to school students during the mandated school closing. The details of meal distribution are noted below. Please look for updated information on the district website daily.

Bagged Breakfast and Lunch Meals will be available for pickup from 8:30 to 9:30 AM beginning Tuesday, March 17th at the:

  • Iroquois Jr./Sr. High School - Pull up to the tent located in the back circle driveway at the Community Lobby/Gym entrance.
  • We are working on a second distribution site in Wesleyville, and will keep you informed as to when it becomes available.

Parents are to remain in their cars and AmeriCorps volunteers will bring the meals to you.

Children must accompany the parent to pick up the meals.

  • Number of meals given will be based on number of children in the vehicle.
  • Open to any child 18 years and younger.
  • Children do not have to attend Iroquois School District schools.

Union City Area School District

Free breakfast and lunch meals will be available for pick up at the following locations for kids ages 1-18:

  • Union City Middle-High School Main Gym Entrance Lobby- 11AM-1PM 
  • Troyer Brothers (10200 Route 6)- 11:10-11:25AM
  • McNulty’s Fruit Stand (12520 Route 8)- 11:35-11:50AM
  • Wilcox Garage (7810 Route 97)- 12-12:15PM
  • Bloomfield Fire Hall (22978 Shreve Ridge Rd.-) 11:15-11:35AM
  • Duane Jackson Insurance (24870 Route 8)- 11:45AM-12PM
  • Sill Farm (9660 Concord Rd.)- 12:10-12:25PM

Other Erie County districts:

No plans yet announced in other districts for meals on social media or websites as of March 17. If information was shared privately with district families Macaroni Kid Erie does not have access to it. Keep an eye on their social media pages and websites in the coming days for more information from:
