Looking for Erie Valentine's Day fun with kids? Here are seven ideas on how to celebrate Valentine's Day in Erie, Pa., with kids.

1. Order a Critter Gram from the Erie Humane Society

The Erie Humane Society Critter Grams are back! For just $40.00, an Erie Humane Society shelter dog and volunteer will deliver flowers to the animal lover in your life. Critter Grams will be delivered on Valentine's Day, February 14th to anyone residing in the City of Erie or Millcreek township. Anyone outside of those two jurisdictions can pick up their Critter Gram at the Erie Humane Society. To order a Critter Gram call the Erie Humane Society at 814-835-8331 during open business hours or email maria@eriehumanesociety.org

2Celebrate the grand opening of the Purrista Cafe

The grand opening of Erie's new Purrista Cafe, 30 W. Eighth St., is scheduled for Valentine's Day! From 11:15 to 1, you can enjoy a free cat cafe lounge visit, free coffee samples, and more. The cafe is also offering "first look" appointments Feb. 12 and 13!

3. Name a cockroach at the Erie Zoo

Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day, Single Awareness Day, or Just Another Day – however you like to celebrate, do it by naming a cockroach at your Erie Zoo! You have two species of cockroach to choose from when naming: Madagascar Hissing Cockroach ($5) or Caribbean Giant Cockroach ($15). Choose your preferred cockroach and name it after your bug-a-boo, bestie, intrusive ex, or perhaps that someone you just can't get rid of. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the animal care at your Erie Zoo. You'll get access to a private link to download your perfect Valentine's Day card to share. And if you name a Caribbean Giant Cockroach, the name you chose will be on display at the exhibit in the Children's Zoo Adventure Center for the 2022 season. Get more information and name your cockroach today!
