Description

A free, family-friendly educational event celebrating the beauty and diversity of trees in the arboretum. Local organizations provide information and hands-on activities including a live animal display, auction, crafts, scavenger hunt, and more! The festival is free and open to the public.

The 20th Annual LEAF Festival will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Frontier Park.

This is Erie’s annual celebration of the beauty and diversity of trees in the Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park, which is home to more than 1000 trees.

This year’s festival features many free activities for all ages and interests including:
• live animal display from Erie Zoo
• hands-on nature education with IAmAPlanetKid
• a craft table with tree art activities
• reel casting for all ages with SONS of Lake Erie
• hands-on fun with expERIEnce Children’s Museum
• monarch butterfly display with local educator Maria Blakeslee
• DCNR Bureau of Forestry educational display showcasing a demonstration of tree rings and growth of trees.
• rocks and fossils display with Michael Naber, Associate Teaching Professor of Geosciences, Environmental Science Program, School of Science, Penn State Behrend
• and many other activities for all ages (stay tuned for more details as exhibitors are confirmed)!

Auction tickets will be for sale throughout the day and the drawing will be held at 1:45 PM. Proceeds from the auction will benefit educational programs at the LEAF Education Center. This year’s auction will feature amazing prizes generously donated by:
