About Kara Murphy:

Kara Murphy lives in Millcreek Township and is the mom of two great kids. A former news reporter, she has published Macaroni KID Erie since 2017.

She previously worked as a reporter for the Erie Times-News, and her work has appeared in the New York Times along with various magazine publications. She now works as the National Director of Editorial and Content Strategy for Macaroni KID in addition to running the Erie site.

She has also volunteered as a board director for CAFE (helping organize CelebrateErie) and served on the Erie County Library Advisory Board.
