Erica Hinsdale, owner of the woman-only Fit Chick Studio at 5111 Iroquois Ave., is a certified pre- and post-natal coach. She is excited to be offering a new four-week class called Body After Baby. Macaroni Kid Erie asked Erica to share the details about her class. Here's what she told us:
I’m so incredibly proud to be offering a postpartum class for new moms! Body After Baby is designed to support moms with babies who are between 2 and 7 months old as they adjust to their new "normal"! I wanted to create the class because it seems to me that while a woman is pregnant there is so much support, then the baby comes and all the support switches to the baby -- leaving the mother feeling overwhelmed and at times alone.
At least, that’s how I felt after giving birth to my children.
So I designed Body After Baby as a 4-week class that focuses on the transition your body goes through in those first months following birth. There will be a speaker at each class that focuses on topics including pelvic floor dysfunction, nutrition, and postpartum depression.Following the speaker, there will be a fitness class that is specifically designed to transition your body back to exercise!
Spend an hour focusing on YOUR body and the changes that it is going through. The postpartum period can be a roller coaster. Let’s make it fun and build a support group while you’re at it!
And guess what? Your baby can come with you! We understand it can be hard to get away, so your baby is welcome to come and join us in class!
Classes will be held at Fit Chick Studio on Tuesdays June 4 to 25 from 11 a.m. to noon. Pre-registration is required! You can register on our website at www.fitchicksstudio.net.
