Don't feel like cooking? Can't say we blame you!
Luckily Erie has AMAZING kid-friendly restaurants, many of which have pivoted to offer great meals for families at-home during the pandemic. Whether you want to dine-in or eat out, here are suggestions from me and our amazing Macaroni Kid Erie community on where our Erie kids love to EAT (listed in no particular order):
Picasso's
2060 Interchange Road, Erie
From Macaroni Kid Erie: I get a Mona Lisa. My kids get grilled cheese. We're all happy. Have a kid who is not-so-hungry? They have "Big Kid" Grilled Cheese and "Little Kid" Grilled Cheese.
John's Wildwood Pizzeria
6008 Knowledge Parkway, Erie
From Erie mom Jen: Both of my kids loooooove John's Wildwood at Knowledge Park. They like eating it outside at Erie Brewing. Win-win for both adults and kids!
(Macaroni Kid Erie note: Order the cinnamon sticks as dessert. Best $4 you'll spend!)
Skippereno's
1604 W. Grandview Blvd.
From Macaroni Kid Erie: Skippereno's is a long time family favorite of ours! My kids LOVE their spaghetti and meatballs. I love the price of their family-size takeout pasta pans, just $16.99 to feed the whole family!
Odi's 12
3702 W. 12th St.
From Macaroni Kid Erie: I mean, the wings.
Zodiac Dinor
2516 State St, Erie
From Macaroni Kid Erie: We all love the vibe and charm of this longtime Erie favorite. My daughter says Zodiac has the best hot chocolate in Erie!
Main Street Cakery & Cafe in Erie and Fairview
7403 W Ridge Rd, Fairview, and 2900 Copperleaf Dr, Erie
From Erie mom Maggie: All three of my kids love Main Street Cakery and Cafe. My son, Eli, loves their chicken tenders with ranch and grapes (loves them)! My daughter, Tara, loves their kids sliders with cheese and fries. (She says they are the best burgers and the buns are amazing!). My oldest daughter, Carissa, loves their grilled cheese or their steak salad (she says the best grilled cheese around and their salads are huge and enough for two days worth!) when I ask what we should do for dinner they always ask for “The Cakery”!
Calamari's Squid Row
1317 State St, Erie
From Erie mom Sarah: They are so kid-friendly, we love the outdoor patio and our kids love the fried calamari!
Room 33
1033 State St., Erie
From Macaroni Kid Erie: Room 33? Isn't that a downtown date night kind of place? Sure is! But local owners are now including a kids' menu for takeout. What's unique about that? Every kids' menu item comes with a Shirley Temple! Now you're talking my son's love language.
Madeline's
8844 PA-18, Cranesville
From Macaroni Kid Erie: Madeline's, in Cranesville, offers the best kind of kids dining: FREE! Every Wednesday families can receive one child's meal per adult entree.
Lorie's Wildridge Restaurant
5455 W Ridge Rd, Erie
From Erie mom Nicole: My kids love Lorie's Wildridge Restaurant. The menu is great for kids and adults! The kids menu comes with crayons and fruit snacks while they wait! Plus, the service is so fast without compromising food or quality. The service is friendly and they always interact with the kids. Mine like to order themselves, and the staff is always patient and accommodating with kids! The price is great and portions are generous. We almost always have leftovers to take home. A winner every time we go!
Dominick's Diner
123 E 12th St, Erie
From Erie grandma Brenda: My granddaughter Addie Jean loves her hotcakes and sausage from Dominick's. So much so that after being in the hospital having to have a cyst removed from her neck the day they discharged her she had to go to Dominick's before they went home!
