Asbury Woods' popular Nature in Your Neighborhood program is back for its third year. This free program takes science and nature on the road to various locations each Thursday June 13 through August 15.
This year families can discover underwater creatures, explore parks through scavenger hunts, examine animal pelts and skulls, and unearth why trees are terrific.
In addition, a partnership with Hooked on Books allows each child to take home a nature-themed book each week.
“Nature in Your Neighborhood is a hands-on, fun way for kids to experience science concepts and real-life environmental examples to help influence the way youth think about the world and their connection to it. We welcome families in each neighborhood to stop in for these free programs and hope to ignite their curiosity about the natural world,” says Jennifer Farrar, Asbury Woods Executive Director.
This free Asbury Woods program is made possible by the Erie Community Foundation with special thanks to Hooked on Books.
