Gannon Summer Camp Writing Workshop For Kids Ages 9 and Up

HS juniors and seniors will leave with a draft of a college essay!

Have a kid who loves to write? Gannon University has a summer camp they won't want to miss! Designed as a writing workshop, Gannon University's Young Writers Camp is a week-long intensive writing camp, offered Aug. 5-9 will introduce young writers to the techniques of composing fiction, poetry, journalistic content, social media content, and other fun stuff. This camp is open to kids ages 9 and up.

Gannon Faculty and writing professionals will help students explore the valuable skills of reading, listening, and speaking. High school juniors and seniors will leave with a draft of college or scholarship application essays.




What students can expect at Gannon's Young Writers Camp:

  • Loads of fun with writing-based activities
  • Craft with the written word in academic, creative, and professional contexts
  • Produce creative pieces that you will be proud of
  • Publish/display projects in the Writing Camp Wall Magazine
  • Practice the art of revision and polishing your writing
