Summer on the Hill at Mercyhurst Prep offers an exciting lineup of athletic and special interest camps running from June through July. Students from across the region can train with experienced coaches, explore new passions, and develop their skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Summer Athletic Camps

Football Camp (Ages 7-13)
A four-day non-contact football camp focusing on offensive and defensive skills, tackling techniques, and special teams, with guidance from Coach Jeff Root, his staff, and current players.

Boys Basketball Camps

  • Coach Randy Durkske’s Camp (Grades 1-9): June 23 – 26, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the MPS gym. Details to be announced.
  • Coach Sean Baer’s Camp (Grades 5-9): June 13 – 17, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Focuses on ball handling, shooting, and defensive skills.
  • Little Dribblers Camp (Grades K-4): June 20 – 24, 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. A fun introduction to basketball skills.

Boys Soccer Camps

  • Ages 5-12: June 1 – 20, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the MPS soccer field.
  • Grades 9-12 (MPS students only): July 7 – 11, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the MPS soccer field.

Rowing Camp (Grades 7-12)
Campers will learn rowing techniques and improve their skills on Presque Isle Bay with guidance from Coach Dave Geiger and his experienced coaching staff.

  • Dates: July 8, 9, 10, 15, and 16 (possible make-up day July 17)
  • Time: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Co-Ed Volleyball Skills Camp (Grades 5-8)
Campers will develop ball control, serving, defense, setting, and attacking skills in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.


Special Interest Camps

Potterpalooza (Ages 6-14)
A Harry Potter–themed adventure, where students attend Hogwarts-style classes, explore herbology, potions, and astronomy, and participate in indoor and outdoor activities.

Summer Performing Arts Workshop (SPAW) (Ages 7-18)
A two-week musical theatre program where students sing, dance, and act, leading up to a showcase performance.

Visual Arts Camp (Ages 8-12)

  • Week 1: A History of Pictures & Inventions (June 16 – 20) – Exploring art and technology through history.
  • Week 2: Myths, Mummies, and Tombs (June 23 – 27) – Focus on Egyptian art, mythology, and ancient artifacts.
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
