Description
Reverend Charles Shipman, while serving as pastor of the Universalist Church in Girard, PA in the 1850’s, organized a secret network of prominent Girard citizens who helped lead fugitive slaves to freedom on the Underground Railroad.
Join us on Saturday, September 23rd at 8:00pm to learn more about Girard’s role in the Underground Railroad, and also meet some of the spirits that still inhabit this haunted town! Meet your guide at the corner of Main and Mechanic Streets in Girard, PA (near the Civil War monument).
This walk is approximately one mile and will take place rain or shine, so please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 6.
