Asbury Woods invites families to join the fun on Arbor Day, Saturday, April 27, for an afternoon filled with engaging activities that celebrate our natural world, especially trees! This event is part of Asbury Woods' "Year of Trees" initiative and is generously sponsored by J. Thomas Tree Service and supported by the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority.
Activities for the Whole Family include:
- Tree Identification: Learn how to identify different trees in our landscape.
- Measure the Impact: Engage with hands-on activities to measure and understand the carbon absorption of trees.
- Hardwood vs. Softwood: Discover the differences between these two types of wood through interactive samples.
- Create a Tree Cookie: Decorate and take home a unique slice of Asbury Woods as a keepsake.
- Tree Hikes: Join a 45-minute guided hike to explore the diverse tree species at Asbury Woods.
- Tree Giveaway: Get a free tree from the ReLEAF initiative and help reach the goal of planting 275,000 trees in Erie County.
