We asked Macaroni Kid Erie readers to nominate an Erie mom that inspires them for the chance to win a $100 Coventina Gift Card and a $50 bouquet from Rosebud Flower Shop. We heard from more than 100 of you. Some entries were sweet, some funny, and some made us cry. Here's what you had to say (the winners, who were chosen randomly, are both below and highlighted):

🌷🌷🌷

My mom is outstanding because she is there for me everyday. She helps with my daughter whenever I need her and makes me chicken noodle soup when I'm sick. She is my best friend and is always there for me and encourages me in whatever I do.

--Amy, nominating Lisa

🌷🌷🌷

My mom is a wonderful person. She became a widow at the young age of 26 and always strived to provide my sister and I with our wants and not just our needs. We butted heads occasionally but always remained close and never had to question our love for one another. She is my best friend today, and a wonderful Grammie to my children. I thank God for blessing me with her every day and I would love to see her pamper herself with this giftcard. Happy Mother's day, Mom, I love you. Xo

--Mindy, nominating Ella

🌷🌷🌷

She is an outstanding mother, she delivered her child with no epidural (something I could not do lol). And her breastfeeding/pumping journey has been channelling but she never gave up and tried everything. And is now still going strong with breastfeeding! She does everything she can to do the best for her child! She deserves to have a nice stress free spa day! Especially for her first mothers day!

--Nicole, nominating Brianne

🌷🌷🌷

She is an amazing mother of 5 and is always doing the absolute best for her child. They come first and she always puts herself last in everyone point of her day. She wakes gets the kiddos ready for school, goes to work, gets out of work in perfect time to pick the kiddos up from school, home for dinner & homework, showers then bed to start all over again. I have never heard her once complain about anything that has to do with being mother even tho sometimes I can see she is completely exhausted. If she was to win I'd would gladly babysit her kiddos so she may have a day to her self. Thank you for the opportunity for her.

--Sheila, nominating Sarah

🌷🌷🌷

Renee is my adopted mom. She has such a caring heart! Recently I was involved in a car accident and she has done everything in her power to help take of my my kids while I’m in a nursing home (at age 24) to recover from this accident. She also managed to adopt another little boy and continues to do foster care here in Erie County. Renee is an amazing mother to me and all the children that come into her life. She could definitely use some time to herself this Mother’s Day! Thank you for giving the opportunity to win these fabulous prizes!!

--Jenn, nominating Renee

🌷🌷🌷

Leah has three young girls who are all three years old and under.  Despite all efforts, this winter was relentless with germs being passed around.  Shortly after her third daughter was born in the winter she needed to be hospitalized.  Her other two daughters also got sick all at the same time. Leah was so strong during the whole ordeal. She worked tirelessly taking care of all of her girls. She ran on no sleep for weeks but kept a positive attitude.  Her maternity leave was consumed by blowing noses, treating fevers, and giving tons of snuggles. Leah deserves some time for herself to recharge her batteries and relax.  Coventina's would be a perfect remedy!  I nominate Leah because she is an incredible mom and wonderful friend!

--Aubrey, nominating Leah

🌷🌷🌷

She raised my self and my two brothers even though she didn't have much but we were just fine she also is a wonderful grandma who goes over and beyond and was my rock when my I was pregnant with my daughter who would not survive after birth she lived for 10 days and my mom was there for what ever I needed and she always remembers her at Christmas  and her birthday.

--Jennifer, nominating Chris

🌷🌷🌷

She is a wonderful mother, that take care of myself and her husband, 2 young girls, and step son. She is the only driver in the house and is always on the go. I appreciate everything she does and this woman needs a break. She is always trying her best to fulfill everyone's needs but her own. I nominate her to win something so she can have a break and do some thing for her. She puts up with a lot and deserves a little get a away. Please choose her.

🌷🌷🌷

Jess has fought hard and long to give her kids the lives they have now, from teen pregnancy to marriage her husband adopting her boys and everything in between. She's always worked hard to provide for her family. As a mother of 4, she still manages to work and take online courses to better herself, not to mention running her kids around to sports and keeping herself healthy and in shape. Never once has her parenting and the health and wellness of her children been in question but instead it is all admiration of her strength and hard work put in to keep her babies happy, healthy, and give them the absolute best lives she is able to. She definitely deserves some time to herself and relaxation!

--Jessica W. nominating Jessica P.

🌷🌷🌷

It is always refreshing to see a mother who can balance 2 children, a husband, a business, a home, personal health and still remain cheerful and sane. Leanne does all this without complaint. She still finds time for play dates and friends. She is always willing to help anyone in need. She has a loving heart and a patient soul.

--Tina, nominating Leanne

🌷🌷🌷

Not only is she a wonderful mother to her two boys; she is also a working mom and a fantastic aunt to my four-year-old daughter. She always takes the time to go the extra mile with her kids. I applaud everything she does for them.

--Becky, nominating Rachel

🌷🌷🌷

My mom is amazing. She moved in with my grandparents (married 69 years!) to take care of my grandma, who unfortunately passed in March. She has since stayed to take care of grandpa who is 94 years young. She deserves the world, but a break to Coventina would be perfect while I work on getting her the world.

--Melissa, nominating Debra

🌷🌷🌷

As a grandmother, despite running two small businesses full time, she puts her grandbabies first. No matter what, they are all (all 11 + 4 great grandbabies) the most important things in her world. She out energizes each of her children! Not only has she raised us to raise our children with a love of the Earth and respect for all humans, she has taught us to love and nurture our own selves. She is a true gift to us.

--Vanessa, nominating Deb

🌷🌷🌷

She has always been there for all of my sports growing up and whenever I needed her.  She has been a big help with my kids as well.  When there were times I couldn't take off work or my husband couldn't either, if the sitter couldn't watch them, she was there for us.  Even if she would only get a couple of hours of sleep, as she works second shift.  Even now that I am staying at home with the kids, if I have appointments I need to go to and can't take the kids, she is there.  If I get called in to sub at work (I worked at a school before we decided for me to stay at home but I stayed on the sub list to help out when I could) she is there so I can go in.  I don't know how we would have done it without her.  <3

--Jessica, nominating Debra

🌷🌷🌷

She always puts the needs of others in front of herself. The true definition of selfless. She also empowers her children to make great decisions and be the best versions of themselves.

--Kristie, nominating Marge

On top of this she is she is the caregiver to 2 foster girls ages 1 and 4! She provides for 4 kids under 4 to make sure all their needs are meant teach them how to pray, make sure they are clean and have fresh clothes, and eating healthy things. She also is involved with their mom helping to better her life so that she will be equipped to get them back one day . 🌷🌷🌷

She is an incredible mother to our five boys, a taxi driver, home manager, cheering section and a primary caregiver for our oldest son Connor that has severe disabilities.  Did I mention that he is not even her biological son? Three of our five boys are not her biological children and yet she gives them the world and is the glue of our family.  She also cares for my mother who is on hospice and lives in our home.  Aimee is the most deserving Mother and care giver I know and is an angel on earth that has already earned her wings. She raised 5 children while always working full time if not full time plus part time to help out my dad and make sure we had what we needed. We never went without the things we needed. The best thing about my mother to this day is I have never heard her yell. She never yelled at any of us kids growing up and she still does not yell at any of her 13 grandkids who love her dearly.
