Goodell Gardens Offers Kids Classes All Summer Long

Edinboro's Goodell Gardens is a true regional treasure

 Get ready for a summer of educational and exciting classes at Edinboro's Goodell Gardens! 

From Garden Sprouts for little ones to Young Trees for middle-schoolers, there's something for every age group at Goodell Gardens. Best of all, many of Goodell Gardens classes are completely free! Kids can explore nature while learning about plants and our environment.

Garden Sprouts
FREE!
Ages 3-5

Mother Nature will return to Goodell Gardens to share her mighty wisdom! Weekly class includes story time, sensory activities, crafts and games. Registration includes the entire series, with six separate sessions. Garden Sprouts meets 11 a.m. to noon on Thursdays.

Garden Seedlings
FREE!
Grades K-2

Each session of Garden Seedlings will revolve around a topic that is sure to captivate young explorers! We also provide sensory activities, crafts, and games to make environmental education come alive. 

The Wizard of the Woods has awakened from his long winter slumber, and he is excited to share some magic with the youngsters. His stories and legends are sure to leave everyone spellbound! Garden Seedlings meet Sundays from 4 to 5 p.m.





Young Trees
$5 members, $10 nonmembers.
Grades 6-8

The next generation of gardeners and nature enthusiasts is just on the horizon! This program is designed for middle-schoolers to receive training in plant science. It includes numerous hands-on experiences in field botany and garden maintenance.

Garden Saplings 
$5 members, $10 nonmembers.
Grades 3-5

Students will explore the wonders of the garden using our five senses to help us get in touch with nature.

Flowering Trees
Grades 9-12
$75 nonmembers; $35 nonmembers

Students attend all five classes, held Thursdays in October. Local youth will explore environmental issues and engage in backyard projects that benefit the environment and the community. Students can take their smaller creations home or give them to others in their neighborhood. Larger projects add permanent enhancements to the grounds at Goodell Gardens.
